If you even remotely enjoy any hardcore or skramz…

Circle Takes the Square are back, and they’ve still got a firm grasp on their crown as the most creative and well-produced skramz band ever. Which doesn’t count for much considering skramz is currently in a decade-long coma, but hey, it’s still excellent.

Featuring dual male/female vocals (both of whom deliver cord-shredding screams and emotional singing), arrangements that rival the complexity of Botch with unparalleled dynamic contrast and poignant lyrics, these guys are a force to be reckoned with. Not to mention that they’ve got the highest quality production of any screamo or hardcore band I’ve ever heard, which is usually a serious barrier when it comes to enjoying this type of music.

This song will say more than I could ever hope to about the band and what they do, so just listen already.

They’ve released a 4-track EP (Rites of Initiation) as a precursor to a hotly anticipated album (Decompositions Vol. 1) coming in October, so don’t miss out on any of it.
